How it began

Vin John was established in June 2014 by John Sonnichsen, former sommelier at restaurant Noma, The Fat Duck and Bagatelle.

The story behind

The natural wine journey started for me in 2005 with a visit to COS in Vittoria, Sicily. The wines they produced back then was full of life and energy. The last decade I have been lucky enough to taste and work with a lot of classic and well known wines. But the wild and spontaneous fermentation in amphora from Vittoria always stayed in the back of my head. Therefore, it was very natural for me to call friends from the vineyards in Europe and ask them if they would like to start a relationship with me in Oslo when I moved back to Norway in 2014. To my luck they said yes, and more have joined since.
